Training Sessions

Elite

This group is for athletes who train seriously for beach volleyball. We believe these athletes have what it takes to qualify for the Danish Championship finals and the tour final. So, we expect them to join the tour tournaments. Athletes are chosen based on how well they're performing right now and their elite mindset. Besides coming to practice, athletes need to do strength training twice a week and follow our other training plans. From the start of the year until the season ends, athletes are part of units as teams. If one player can't make a practice, they can train with a substitute partner. From October to December, fixed partnerships aren't always set yet, so you can train with different partners.

Athletes & Selection

  • You'll need to play on the tour with your regular partner(s)
  • We believe you have a shot at qualifying for the Danish Championships
  • You're responsible for your progress and growth
  • You want to get better and win more
  • You'll follow the elite's fitness plans, talent program, and strategy
  • You'll act in line with the club's values and ELITE-SKUD (which stands for Teamwork, Quality, Development, and Dedication)
  • You are role models for CPH and Danish beach volleyball.

Training Info:

Focus: Building a strong performance foundation with the team as the core (covering mental, physical, technical, and tactical aspects).

This group usually has about 18-24 athletes and 9-12 teams, playing on 3-4 courts.

Talent

This group is for athletes who are already good at beach volleyball but have even greater potential. We train with the Danish Beach Tour in mind, and we expect athletes to play 6-8 tournaments during the summer. However, there's also a longer-term goal with the training, spanning three years. This means new athletes will focus on summer 2026, while existing athletes will aim for 2025.

Athletes and Selection:

  • Athletes are chosen based on their talent and potential. The reason potential might be valued more than current skill level and results could be that the athletes are new to the sport or still very young.
  • Athletes in their early 20s will have an advantage over older athletes.
  • Athletes in the TALENT group aren't necessarily worse than those in the ELITE group. It's just that we believe their development happens best with a longer-term focus on technical, tactical, mental, and physical training, allowing them to really work through each part.
  • Besides coming to practice, athletes need to do strength training twice a week and follow our other training plans.
  • Athletes are encouraged to find a fixed partner for the summer, but it's not a strict requirement. However, we do train with an even number of players from the start of the calendar year until the end of the season.
