If you're new to CPH Beach or thinking about joining, read on!
We've tried to gather some practical info here and answer the most common questions before you even ask them.
Before you can sign up for training, you need to show your interest using a pre-registration form. You can find the form here, as long as it's before the deadline.
Since we have limited court space, you're not guaranteed a spot. If you sign up after the deadline for season registration, you'll need to register via the waitlist sign-up, as groups fill up quickly at the start of the season.
After the summer/winter season, EVERYONE needs to sign up again. As a member, you'll get an email with all the sign-up info when the time comes.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the club's Sports Committee (SU) at su@cpbeach.dk.
You can definitely be a member without being part of a training group. Your membership lets you book courts with other members, join social events like parties, Friday Beach, mixed tournaments, Thursday tournaments, and lots more!
To cancel your membership, you need to do it through your profile on Sportyfriends. Just go to 'Membership' -> 'Cancel' – you can also check out the video guide here. Please note: if you cancel, you'll still be charged for the current month plus one extra month. During this period, your membership stays active, and you can still enjoy all the same benefits until it ends.
This applies to all types of memberships (youth, senior, elite).
Keep in mind that once you cancel, you won't receive emails from the club anymore about signing up for training groups or info on upcoming seasons.
The first thing you need to do is pay for your training package, and then you'll be all set for the season. Training sessions are announced shortly before the season kicks off. To join a training session, you need to sign up through the website. The sign-up deadline is 24 hours before the training starts. Remember to cancel your training spot if you can't make it, so players on the waitlist can grab your spot!
How to sign up:
To join a training session, you need to sign up. So, if you haven't signed up, you can't join the training.
Training takes place in Ryparken, Østerbro, and at Hafnia Hall, Valby. Hafnia Hall has 4 outdoor courts and 3 indoor courts, which we use for training in the winter. Ryparken has 9 courts.
After each winter and summer season, our coaches evaluate all players. This helps the Sports Committee (SU) place you in the right training group for the next season.
They do this based on your technical skills, physical fitness, attendance, and commitment.
As a member, you and up to 3 other members can book one court at a time for free! You can also book with non-members, but there's a small fee of 90 DKK per guest for that.
Here's how to book a court:
If you can't make it to your booking, please cancel it so someone else can enjoy the court time!
Here at Copenhagen Beachvolley, we really value our volunteers! It's all thanks to our members' hard work that we have such an amazing club. So, we hope that as a member, you'll lend a hand when needed. This might involve getting the courts ready before and after the season, or helping out with tournaments.
If you're aiming for elite play and have the skills, signing up is a bit different. You'll need to get in touch with our acting sports director, Martin Kattner, who will help place you in the right training group.
You can reach Martin Kattner by email:
Find out more about our elite program under the 'Elite' tab.
We use our social media channels at Copenhagen Beachvolley to share all the important updates. So, to make sure you don't miss a thing, here's what to do:

If you've missed signing up for the season, please follow these steps:
1. Sign up for the waiting list here
We'll get in touch if and when a spot opens up that matches your level. So, please make sure to include details about your skill level or any extra comments so we can place you perfectly!
2. Become a Club Member
In the meantime, you can become a club member by paying a monthly membership fee of 180 DKK here
That way, you can join in on social events like Friday Beach and book courts for free (with other members, of course!).
We recommend joining these two Facebook groups if you're not already a member:
CPH Beach – Play and Connect (where you can find players to play with by posting something.)
Just like last year, we've seen a lot of interest in joining the weekly training sessions, and unfortunately, we haven't been able to offer a spot to everyone who showed interest.
This is especially true for new players who haven't been members of the club before, returning members, and a few current members.
If your name isn't on any training group list, it means we haven't been able to find a spot for you this time around. You've automatically been added to the waiting list, and you don't need to do anything else.
If one or more players don't confirm their spot or drop out during the season, there will be open spots, and the training coordinators will contact you by email.
If you're a paying member, in the meantime, you can:
Book courts for free
Join the Friday Fun Mix, where all members meet up and play together
I'd like to switch to a different training group or day – is that possible?
If you're not happy with the group you've been assigned (for example, if the training day doesn't fit your work/personal schedule, your partner is in a different group, or you want to train at a higher level), you can contact us by email and explain your situation.
But please keep the following in mind: At the start of the season, only minor adjustments will be made. The further we get into the season, the more the coaches will have assessed the level of the groups, and SU will have a better overview of available spots based on attendance. Each case is assessed individually, and it might take time – or it might not be possible at all this season, depending on whether there's space and if your level matches the desired group. It's generally easier to move down to a lower level than up to a higher one. So, please keep this in mind when you write to us.
If you already want to move to a different group (higher or lower level) now (before the season starts), you have two options.
Social events for everyone with a monthly membership (this applies to youth, seniors, and elite players). Please note, you don't need to be part of a training unit to join in:
Fredagsbeach
Every Friday, all members, no matter their skill level or age, can come play some fun games in Hafnia Hall during winter, and Ryparken in summer. It's like a 'paradise game' where the main goal is to have fun and enjoy the company of others in the sport we all love. Come expand your network and kick off your weekend with joy and fun in the sand!
Thursday Tournament
The Thursday Tournament is a new club tournament format we're trying out this summer at Ryparken. It's held every other Thursday for the club's ladies, and on the alternate Thursdays for the club's men. Everyone can join, no matter their skill level. Points are collected, and we'll crown a winner at the final tournament.
Club Parties
The club hosts three big parties throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to these too! We have an Easter lunch, a summer party, and a Christmas party. They're all organized by the club's party committee.
Mixed Tournament
At the end of each summer season, we host a club mixed tournament. You team up with a partner of the opposite gender and compete against other club members. It takes place at Ryparken, and usually, we follow it up with our summer party. It's definitely the coziest day and evening of the year!
If for various reasons (injury, pregnancy, personal circumstances, etc.) you can't complete the season, then please let both your coaches and the training coordinators know (su@cphbeach.dk).
If you have questions, feel free to send us an email (su@cphbeach.dk). Please note that we don't work full-time, so we prioritize answering emails that haven't already been addressed in this post, and we'll get back to the rest afterwards.
If you'd like a refund for your training package due to injury or pregnancy, you should also send a message to su, and individual cases will be reviewed. As a general rule, we unfortunately don't offer refunds.
